07/03/05 Dear Raff et al, Please find attached six photographs that I took of your concert in Reading the other week. It was really excellent and possibly the best that I have seen you play those numbers. I was particularly impressed with the support/road crew that you now have, and it must have made life for you a lot easier once you took the stage. I will place my advance order now for the CD and/or DVD as soon as they are available! Best wishes, Richard B. Thanks veryy much for the photos. I will be putting up a couple of them on the website. Raff 05/03/05 Best Performance yet! I've been to see you guys twice before, and it gets better every time. Very memorable with random stoned guy jumping up onstage getting into the groove with a tambourine, and with the film being recorded. In both my previous reviews I've said how I would bring loads of my mates, and having finally been able to come, they were in awe of you guys! My favourite song of the evening was probably dazed and confused. I have a request, next time you guys are down here is there any chance we could get a rendition of the battle of evermore? Rock on! Chris B I can't make any promises, but we'll definitely be performing it at the Led Zeppelin Convention in May, where we will be doing an hour long acoustic set! Raff 04/03/05 Hello Guys Thanks for a great night on Saturday, I think is was better than last year, although saying that it did seem as if there was a lot of bass on some of the numbers, we were sat at the top of the balcony and sometimes we couldn't hear the vocals, but that may have been just the acoustics in the Concert Hall, I would like to hear your thoughts on that. It was good to see plenty of fans there, good luck to you all see you again very soon, Fond Regards, Robbo. I'm sorry the sound mix you were hearing wasn't great, but you're absolutely right, It's down to the acoustics of the Concert Hall which are not the best suited for loud Rock'n'roll. Particularly in the balcony area where a lot of the definition gets lost. And for this reason we'll most probably play a different venue next time. Raff 02/03/05 Dear all Thoroughly enjoyed the gig on Saturday at Reading Concert Hall, all our friends enjoyed the night too. Jackie S. 01/03/05 Hi there, Great gig on Saturday in Reading. My ears were still ringing on Monday morning! We were all shouting at one another on Sunday just to be heard. I brought my kids along - 14 and 16. They acknowledge now that the Zeps were the kings of riffs! We been listening to all the albums since. The first half was good, but the second half was superb - Kashmir outstanding. I'm sad that I never saw the real Zeps (apart from their crappy film), but I doubt they could have done better than you guys! I tried listening to Stairway backwards ... to me it sounds like a drunken Frenchman rather than an ode to the prince of darkness (no, not Ozzy!), but there you are. Anyway, keep up the good work. Keep squeezing the lemons, Adrian D. 01/03/05 You lot are amazing I have seen you twice now! both at reading town hall. I was hoping one of u lot would recognise me, I have been at the front both times I was on the rite near the keyboard guy Steve. last time I was on the right near Raff.! you guys are so good. are you playing in reading again soon? if you are I will be there. did you guys recognise me at all? I did do the rock on sign and Luke done it back! P.S were you annoyed when the drunk guy came on stage? he chucked your tambourine. No Respect there! o well Love you guys! OLLY Yes we were annoyed by the drunk coming on stage! But luckily he was quickly escorted off. We can laugh about it now. -Raff 01/03/05 Dear B-L-Z Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed Saturday night. Although there weren’t as many people there as last year (which meant I felt more self-conscious about playing the air guitar!), your performance was brilliant and I’m still buzzing now from it. I was pleased to see a lot more youngsters there this time – I didn’t feel like I was the youngest one there like I did last time. Well chuffed that you played Over The Hills and Far Away – that song got me into Led Zep after I saw the dodgy Promo they did for it on Raw Power (in about ’92) which had clips from Knebworth in 1979 (when RP was wearing a polka dot shirt and had bigger hair than usual and JP was wearing a tasty silk shirt) and random footage of other songs, so RP’s lips were out of sync big time. Loved it – thanks very much. Again, at the end I was gutted when you had to finish. Next time you play in Reading, I’ll be there with bells on, and please make me the happiest woman alive by adding Gallow’s Pole and The Rain Song to your set list. Ta very muchly Cara x The Rain Song is part of our repertoire. Hopefully it will be in our set next time you see us. We certainly will be playing Gallows Pole at The Led Zeppelin Convention in May, where we will be performing a special acoustic set. -Raff 28/02/05 Excellent gig on Saturday night, thoroughly enjoyed it, and well worth the money we paid. Music and vocals were top nosh. Vim P. 27/02/05 Hi Absolutely fantastic. I was back in 1975 at Earls Court. Keep it up. I can't wait for more, Phil W. 27/02/05 Raf, Luke, and team, I've seen you about 6 or 7 times in all, and last night I braved taking my whole family (incl son and daughter of 15 and 13) to see you and to my delight they were not disappointed. it was 3 full hours of intense pleasure, thank you once again. Bye for now, Martin of Kingston. 27/02/05 hi guys was at the gig in Reading last night... just wanted to say you were fantastic,so nice to hear Led Zep music played live, rather than a cd...have seen another Zep cover band and they had nothing on you guys(and the singer looked like Lily Savage, which did'nt help!)You were so authentic, kept making me smile at how good you were.Have seen Page and Plant ,but strike me down for saying this...enjoyed your set more Keep doing you stuff...brilliant Thanks for a good night, Sarah |
